Gareth Bale’s agent wants to get assurances from newly appointed Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui about his clients game time before making a decision about his future.
He only started 20 games in La Liga last season, and made it quite clear that he would consider his future away from the 13 time European champions if he couldn’t be guaranteed more minutes.
However, Zinedine Zidane’s shock resignation just days after the 3-1 victory over Liverpool, prompted speculation that he could now stay to work under Lopetegui’s management.
But now his agent has confirmed that he is still looking for reassurances for his client:
“I think we have to have a chat with Real Madrid and see where we’re going,” said Jonathan Barnett.
“He wants a better year than he had last year. He wants to play more, and that’s paramount to him. I think he’s one of the top three or four players on earth. For somebody like him, he has to play. It’s not about money.”
