Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is one of Europe’s finest and most prolific strikers, and has worked with some of the biggest managers.
The Gabon international scored 141 goals in 213 appearances for the Bundesliga club, before making the club record £56 million move to Arsenal back in January. Since he has moved to the Etihad, he has hit the ground running, bagging six goals in his first eight appearances for the Gunners.
Now, he has compared the style of his current boss Arsene Wenger to his two previous coaches at Borussia Dortmund, Jurgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
“They are three coaches that are very different,” he said.
“Klopp was electric. Tuchel was a bit of madness, and Arsene Wenger is someone who is very calm, very composed. So three very different profiles.
“With all three of them, so far, everything has gone well. With Arsene Wenger, it’s going well right now. And, I don’t really know how to compare them given how they are three very different people, but three big coaches who are proving it right now, be it Klopp at Liverpool or Arsene right now.”
Arsene Wenger’s future at Arsenal is thought to be under threat after a disappointing campaign in the Premier League, with former Dortmund coach Tuchel having been one of the names linked with replacing him.
If Wenger were to leave, it seems that a move to replace him with Tuchel would get Aubameyang’s seal of approval:
“I think that with Tuchel things went well because he understood me,” he added.
“He used to tell me that he liked my lifestyle. He is someone who had a bit of craziness because he could invent a way of playing during a match – and you ask yourself, is that going to work? And it works.”
