Atsu urges Newcastle players to ‘stick together.’

Newcastle attacker Christian Atsu has urged his teammates to stick together after a difficult start to the season for Rafa Benitez’s side.

As we head into the international break Newcastle sit in 19th place in the Premier League table after collecting just two points from their opening eight fixtures, although to be fair, five of those games were against members of last seasons top six.

However, Atsu reckons there is enough quality and spirit within the Magpies squad to recover and start climbing up the table.

“We have the team and the players and we have the spirit,” He told the Newcastle Chronicle.

“When things go wrong that’s when the spirit comes in. It’s when we have to stick together.

“I remember last season was the same but we stayed together. So we have to do what we have to do.

“We have to improve in games we know.

“We have been disappointed with results and we feel sorry for the fans. We have to change the atmosphere.”
