Aston Villa have made an approach to Royal Antwerp for goalkeeper Senne Lammens, amid an expectation that Emi Martinez could leave before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Lammens had been in talks with Manchester United over a potential move to Old Trafford, but Villa have now entered the race.
It comes amid Manchester United’s own interest in signing Martinez from Aston Villa. Transfer talks between the clubs have reignited in recent days.
Lammens, who would cost in the region of €25m, is one of two potential options for Villa to potentially replace Martinez. Unai Emery’s side are also considering FC Porto goalkeeper Diogo Costa, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Galatasaray are also interested in Lammens, who led world football for saves (178) and prevented goals (15.8) in the during the 2024/25 season.

The 23-year-old has earned nine caps for Belgium at u-21 level and was called into the senior squad for the first time in March.
