Aston Villa are facing a fight to hold onto Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa, following the record sale of Morgan Rogers to Chelsea.
Unai Emery is facing a huge summer at Aston Villa as the club prepare to return to the Champions League, having lost both Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers to Premier League rivals.
Rogers completed his £117m record transfer to Chelsea on Tuesday, in the latest blow to Emery’s plans for the new season.
Villa face further transfer interest in key figures. According to The Telegraph, Arsenal are considering an approach for Ezri Konsa as the Premier League champions seek defensive cover. The Gunners have earmarked the England international as an option, with concerns over William Saliba’s back issues heading into the new campaign.
Juventus are also pursuing a deal for Emi Martinez. The Serie A side have made Martinez their top target as the club seek an experienced goalkeeper this summer.
Villa’s negotiating position is strengthened following their substantial sales, though the club have reinvested around £98m in Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes. Villa are also in talks with Chelsea to sign Alejandro Garnacho.
