Aston Villa are reportedly exploring a move to sign Kieran Dewsbury-Hall from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Dewsbury-Hall has failed to break into the plans of Enzo Maresca since his £30m move to Chelsea from Leicester in the summer.
The 26-year-old worked with Maresca at Leicester and was instrumental in their promotion last season but has been restricted to just 44 minutes of Premier League football since signing for Chelsea.
He’s not featured in the league since September 21st and has not been included in the Premier League matchday squad for five of the club’s last six games.
According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Unai Emery and Aston Villa are weighing up a loan-to-buy offer to bring Dewsbury-Hall back to the Midlands.
However, their current proposal ‘falls some way short’ of Chelsea’s valuation of the player. Villa have reportedly offered a fee of around £18m including add-ons, while Chelsea want to recoup their initial investment in full.
Dewsbury-Hall shone in the second tier last season to end the campaign with 12 goals and 14 assists for Leicester in their Championship-winning campaign. He was close to a summer move to Brighton before Chelsea emerged as suitors.
