Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal to sign free agent Leon Goretzka in the summer transfer window.
The midfielder has been without a club since leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season when his contract expired.
The 31-year-old spent eight years with Bayern, winning the UEFA Champions League in 2020 and seven Bundesliga titles, as well as three German Cups.
Villa are in desperate need of a midfield signing after selling Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans to Chelsea and Manchester United respectively, while new signings Johan Manambi and Joao Gomes are both out injured at the moment.

According to Matteo Moretto, Goretzka is “very close” to joining Villa after reaching a “full agreement” with the Midlands outfit.
The Italian journalist reports that the Germany international “feels very drawn to the project” at Villa Park. He is set to complete a medical and sign his contract this week.
