A host of Premier League clubs are competing with European sides in the race to sign Royal Antwerp teenager Arthur Vermeeren.
Vermeeren has caught the attention of leading clubs after breaking into the Antwerp team last season, as Mark van Bommel’s side won the Belgian Pro League title for the first time in 65 years – also adding the Belgian Cup – to earn qualification to the Champions League’s group stage.
The 18-year-old’s performances are understood to have put him on Barcelona’s shortlist of transfer targets as the Spanish side seek a long-term option in midfield, though the Catalans will face competition from a quartet of Premier League teams.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool, Manchester United, West Ham and Brighton are all monitoring Vermeeren’s progress ahead of a potential move.
Ajax have also made enquiries into the teenager’s availability, while RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco are also credited with interest.
Antwerp are braced for January interest in the talented teenager, who is understood to be value at around โฌ15m-โฌ20m at the Belgian champions.
