Mikel Arteta has said Jurrien Timber and Martin Odegaard could be fit to feature for Arsenal in this weekend’s Carabao Cup final.
Arsenal take on Manchester City at Wembley on Sunday with the first silverware of the season at stake.
For Arsenal, it’s a chance to end a six-year wait for a major trophy and continue their quest for an unprecedented quadruple.
Arsenal have issues heading into the clash, with both Timber and Odegaard facing battles to make it.
Both will miss tomorrow’s Champions League tie with Bayer Leverkusen, but Arteta was optimistic over their involvement at Wembley.
On Odegaard, Arteta said at his press conference on Monday: “Yeah. He really wants to be available, but we will have to see in the next few days when he trains, how he feels. The more players we have, the better.
“With [Jurrien Timber’s injury] it will be a matter of days, so I’m not sure [on his availability]. We need everybody available. We know what [Ben White] gives us. He trained today, so he is good. We need everybody’s contribution.”
