Arsenal go to Munich on Wednesday seeking a 15th successive Champions League league-phase win, with Noni Madueke expected to replace Eberechi Eze after his winner at Nottingham Forest.
Mikel Arteta’s side are the only team yet to concede in this season’s league phase, after a 1-0 win at Napoli and a 3-0 win over Lille. They have lost their last three visits to the Allianz Arena, though, and won only one of their previous seven.
Bayern are unbeaten in 39 home matches in the group stage or league phase, and are without the suspended Michael Olise and the injured Jamal Musiala.
Arsenal team news
William Saliba (back) has not played this season and is out again, and Piero Hincapie (ankle) will miss the match, though Arteta said he could be available for Everton if he trains in the next few days. Christos Tzolis (hamstring) is a couple of weeks from a full recovery. Martin Zubimendi, who was an unused substitute at Forest, is back from an ankle problem, and Arteta said he “will be involved”, though he has been given limited minutes this season.
Madueke is expected to replace Eze on the left after scoring the 80th-minute winner at Forest, where Eze was withdrawn at half-time. Arteta responded to questions about Eze’s form by saying the squad’s expectations are high and that more is demanded of everyone. Timber is expected to return at right-back, and Myles Lewis-Skelly could start at left-back alongside Declan Rice and Bruno Guimaraes in midfield. Viktor Gyokeres is a candidate to lead the line, with Kai Havertz, who started at Forest, the alternative.
Arsenal predicted lineup
