Arsenal are looking to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season as they look to sign two defenders.

According to The Sun, Arsene Wenger is keen on adding Manchester City’s Jason Deneyer and Borussia Dortmunds Matthias Ginter to his squad at the Emirates.

Deneyer is highly rated at Manchester City and could be part of Pep Guardiola’s first team plans at the club this season after he was involved in Belgiums Euro 2016 campaign.

A source close to Manchester City told the newspaper:

Denayer signed a new contract last summer. He is rated at about £15m at the club and is on around £25,000-a-week.

Arsenal have been interested before just over a year ago but only bid £5m. There was no follow-up offer at the time, but Wenger is a fan.

Meanwhile, he is also keen on the young German Ginter, who he has tracked for a number of years since his days at Freiburg, and could finally make a move to bring him to the Premier League this summer
