It’s the battle of former Pep Guardiola assistants, with Enzo Maresca set to make his debut as Manchester City manager, after replacing his former mentor this summer. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta learned his trade under Guardiola before leaving for North London in 2019, and ended the club’s 22-year title drought last season.

Why is the Community Shield not on free-to-air TV?
The Community Shield had been broadcast on free-to-air TV until 2025. ITV previously had the rights to the fixture, until TNT Sports secured the broadcast rights last year.
Why is the 2026 Community Shield not at Wembley?
The Community Shield is usually held at Wembley, but a scheduling conflict has seen the fixture moved to Cardiff this season. The change in venue is because Wembley is already booked up this weekend by Canadian singer The Weeknd, whose “After Hours Til Dawn” tour takes place at Wembley from Aug. 14 until Aug. 19
