Arsenal to offer Aubameyang ‘huge’ new deal to see off China interest

Arsenal are ready to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a ‘huge’ new deal amid reported interest in the forward from China.

Unai Emery’s side are ready to offer the 29-year-old an improved contract following a superb season at the Emirates, with the Gabonese international scoring 31 goals in all competitions and earning a share of the Premier League‘s Golden Boot.

Reports had emerged that several Chinese clubs had been interested in signing the former Borussia Dortmund star, offering the forward a mega-money deal worth in the region of £300,000-a-week.

According to the Mirror, Arsenal have now opened talks with Aubameyang over a new deal as they bid to keep him in North London. The forward has two years remaining on his current contract and is likely to be offered an increase on his reported £190,000-a-week wage to commit his future to the club.

Aubameyang’s strike partner Alexandre Lacazette is also in line for a new deal. The France international was named as the club’s Player of the Year after an impressive season and has been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

Lacazette, like Aubameyang, is likely to be offered an increase on his current wages with Arsenal keen to keep their star players as they build a squad capable of returning to the Champions League.
