Arsenal could be set to miss out on one of their summer signings as West Ham have moved into pole position to sign Henry Onyekuru.
Arsenal were believed to be close to signing the Nigerian striker, but Sky Sports are now reporting that West Ham have taken a surprise lead in the negotiations.
Arsenal and West Ham are apparently just two of seven clubs interested in signing the 20-year-old.
West Ham have been searching for a striker for over 12-months, and after failed moves for the likes of Michu Batshuayi and Carlos Bacca, Onyekuru could be finally the man to fill the void.
The striker had a fantastic season in the Belgian League for his club KAS Eupen, scoring 25 goals, the joint highest amount in the league, five more goals that Romelu Lukaku’s best total when he played for Anderlecht.
He is available for just over £7m.
