Arsenal are ready to make a move for Borussia Dortmund’s out-of-favour midfielder Julian Weigl.
The German international was once widely tipped as one of Europe’s hottest properties but his progress has since stalled and the 23-year-old has made just three Bundesliga appearances so far this season.
Arsenal‘s head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is familiar with the player from his time working at Dortmund, and Weigl could follow the same path as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Sokratis in leaving The Westfalenstadion for North London.
Weigl has found himself out-of-favour since manager Lucien Favre arrived at the club and has fallen behind the likes of summer signings Thomas Delaney and Axel Witsel in the pecking order.
The potential availability of Weigl is said to have alerted several clubs around Europe, although talkSPORT is reporting that Arsenal are leading the chase as the bid to bring the German to the Premier League.
