Arsenal have moved a step closer to the signing of Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir with the Mirror reporting that talks are already under way between the two clubs with a view to completing a £60 million pound deal in January.

PSG were expected to rival Arsenal for the player, although the player confirmed this week that, due to the fact he is a boyhood Lyon fan, he would not consider a move to any other French side.

Fekir, has always been talked about as a player with great potential, but this season he has really started to produce the goods on a regular basis, and has been in sensational form in both Ligue Un and the Europa League.

The talented 24-year-old has notched a hugely impressive 11 goals and 4 assists in just 11 appearances so far this term.

Although several other European heavyweights like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus have been linked with Fekir recently, Arsenal are now in pole position to land his signature, with Arsene Wenger seeing him as the ideal replacement for contract rebel Alexis Sanchez.
