Arsenal are open to signing Enzo Fernandez from Chelsea if the midfielder agitates for an exit this summer.

Fernandez’s future is in doubt with the Argentine understood to be unhappy with Chelsea’s project. The Blues have lost six straight Premier League games and look set to miss out on Champions League qualification.

The midfielder made headlines earlier this season when he discussed his desire to live in Spain, amid reported interest from Real Madrid. Fernandez was dropped from the Chelsea squad for two games as a result of the comments by former manager Liam Rosenior.

However, Spanish suitors face competition from the Premier League. Manchester City are understood to be monitoring his situation, while TEAMtalk claim Arsenal are also interested in a deal.

Despite the rivalry between the London sides, Arsenal and Chelsea have conducted plenty of business in recent years. Their tradings include the £65m transfer of Kai Havertz from Stamford Bridge to Arsenal in 2023.

Chelsea have no intention of selling Fernandez, who is the club’s vice-captain. The midfielder signed a contract until 2032 and cost Chelsea a then-British record £106.1m from Benfica in January 2023.
