Report: Arsenal look to tie Aubameyang and Lacazette to new deals

Arsenal are keen to tie Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette down to new long-term deals after their goalscoring exploits this season.

While it hasn’t been the greatest of seasons for Arsenal, who are almost certain to miss out out on a place in the top four for a third consecutive season, Aubameyang and Lacazette have been shining lights, scoring 52 per cent of the Gunners Premier League goals.

Gabon international Aubameyang has scored 29 goals in all competitions and is still in contention to win the Premier League golden boot, currently sitting two goals behind Liverpool‘s Mohamed Salah going into the final round of fixtures.

Meanwhile, Lacazette has scored 19 goals in all competitions, and between them, they scored all of Arsenal’s seven goals in their 7-3 aggregate victory over Valencia to book their place in the Europa League final.

France international striker Lacazette has been linked with a £70m move to Barcelona in the last few weeks, but according to the Mail, Arsenal will attempt to stave off any interest in their star strikers by handing them both a new deal.

The Gunners have famously lost many a big name player over the last few years, with Aaron Ramsey the latest to leave the club on a free transfer, and the North London outfit seem to be finally learning from their mistakes.

The report claims that they are ready to hand both players new deals worth around £250,000-a-week.
