Arsenal are keen to recoup a fee of £20m for Eddie Nketiah with Crystal Palace interested in a deal to sign the forward.
Nketiah has entered the final season of his deal with Arsenal and is keen to secure regular first-team football, having struggled for opportunities since progressing through the Gunners’ academy ranks.
Brighton had been interested in signing the 22-year-old as part of the deal that took Ben White in the opposite direction earlier this summer, though the proposal was turned down by Arsenal who had hoped to persuade Nketiah to remain at the club.
However, the prospect of the forward signing a new deal now appears unlikely and The Athletic are reporting that Crystal Palace are keen on his signature before the transfer window’s closure next week.
Patrick Vieira’s side are believed to be prepared to pay around £10m for Nketiah, with an unnamed German club having seen an approach with a similar valuation rejected by the Gunners.
Arsenal are keen to secure a fee of around £20m for Nketiah, who has enjoyed a prolific record for England at youth level with a record-breaking 16 goals in 17 appearances for the u21 side.
The north Londoners have just over a week to agree a deal with potential suitors however, or run the risk of losing the forward on a free transfer next summer.
Nketiah has missed the opening weeks of the season with an ankle injury.
