Arsenal are expected to enter the transfer market in January to sign another forward option.
The Gunners failed to land a marquee forward to improve their frontline during the summer, despite interest in names including Vinicius Junior, Julian Alvarez and Morgan Rogers.
Though deals for Vinicius and Rogers are off the table, Arsenal are considering to monitor Alvarez’s situation at Atletico Madrid.
The Argentine forward expressed a desire to leave Atletico during the summer window and received a hostile reception upon his return. Alvarez wants to join Barcelona, but Arsenal are keeping tabs on the situation.
According to the Independent, Bournemouth striker Eli Kroupi Junior is also expected to be an option.
Transfer interest in Kroupi Junior disappeared after the 20-year-old was ruled out for three to four months with a foot injury that he suffered at Bournemouth’s training camp in Austria in July.
He underwent surgery on the issue and is expected back in the autumn. Arsenal are weighing up a January approach for the Frenchman in January, who is valued in excess of £80m.
Kroupi Junior scored 13 league goals for Bournemouth last season, setting a new Premier League record for a teenager in their first season in the division.
