Arsenal forward Kai Havertz was forced out of Germany’s draw with Netherlands on Thursday night with an injury.
The 27-year-old was on the receiving end of a late, high challenge from Quinten Timber, who is the brother of Gunners defender Jurrien Timber.
Havertz has left the Germany squad after suffering what is believed to be a minor muscle strain and will be treated by Arsenal. He will be replaced by Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz.
Germany manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that Havertz and Jamal Musiala have undergone MRI scans to determine the nature of their injuries, but hopes they will be back in action relatively soon.

“At the moment both are on the MRI (scans),” Klopp told RTL. “I hope we get the diagnosis tonight. But of course that’s not great now.
“I hope this is just nothing bad. The boys are probably out for us. But hopefully then also relatively quickly available again.”
Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey also picked up an injury during the game. The Netherlands international pulled up while chasing the ball and had to come off after just 35 minutes of the 1-1 draw.
Elsewhere, Arsenal winger Christos Tzolis scored the equaliser for Greece before they snatched a last-gasp win over Serbia in the UEFA Nations League.
Arsenal host Leeds United in the Premier League on 10th October in their first game after the international break.
