Arsenal are interested in signing Yannick Carrasco as an alternative to Ivan Perisic according to reports today.
Unai Emery has expressed his intention to sign a winger on a number of occasions during the January transfer window, with recent speculation suggesting that they have been trying to broker a move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic.
The Croatia international is reported to have handed in a transfer request at the San Siro in order to force through a move to the Emirates, although Arsenal‘s current financial situation that is only allowing them to operate in the loan market is thought to be a sticking point, with the Italian side preferring a permanent deal for the 29-year-old.
Now, with just over 24 hours left in the January window, Sky Sports are reporting that the Gunners have opened talks with Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang about potentially signing Belgium international Yannick Carrasco as an alternative.
Carrasco moved to the CSL club from Atletico Madrid last February where he has since scored seven goals in 26 appearances.
He has five goals in 34 international caps for Belgium, and was a part of the team made it all the way to the World Cup semi-finals last summer.
However, in an interesting development, Sky Sports Italia are reporting that both AC Milan and Inter Milan are interested in signing Carrasco, which could ultimately put a move for Perisic back on the table.
