Arsenal manager Unai Emery says the club will only sign players that are better than the ones they already have in their squad.
The Gunners are unable to buy players outright this month, meaning they can only make loan signings in this transfer window.
Emery, however, says the Premier League club won’t be bringing in bodies just for the sake of it and only want to sign players of a high enough standard.
Arsenal have been linked with a number of players in January, including Malcom, Gary Cahill and Ivan Perisic.
“It’s the same. I can’t say to you and example, it’s for all the situations,” Emery told the press ahead of his sides fixture against Cardiff tonight at the Emirates.
“It’s not easy because I don’t want to come here, sign a player and it’s not very clear if he can help us be better than the players we already have in the squad.
“It’s a difficulties and [there are] other things, but this is one example where we can only bring players that we are very convinced will be able to help us with a good performance.”
