He may have only been at the club for less than six months, but Arsenal manager Unai Emery has clearly made a massive impression on the club hierarchy, who have described the Spaniard as ‘absolutely extraordinary’.
Emery was brought in by the Gunners this summer and given the unenviable task of replacing managerial stalwart Arsene Wenger, who had presided over events in North London for an incredible 22 years.
However, with many thinking that the Arsenal squad was in need of some major surgery, Emery has got the Gunners firing, and has steered them on a 16 game unbeaten streak, and up to fifth in the Premier League.
Speaking about the former Sevilla and PSG boss, Arsenal managing director Vinai Venkatesham has been gushing about the 47-year-old’s work ethic and passion.
“His (Emery) energy is absolutely extraordinary. His work ethic is absolutely extraordinary,” Venkatesham told the Independent.
“When you are on that long flight home from Eastern Europe after a Europa League game and everyone is trying to get a little bit of sleep, he is watching the game, analysing it. All times, all hours. His energy levels… We had dinner with him on Wednesday and his energy and passion is infectious.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal director of football Raul Sanllehi also said gushed about Emery’s positivity.
“It’s contagious. In a good way. I have to make the point also, just to clarify, that I did not know him personally. We are both Spanish but I did not know him personally.
“But the feedback I got from people who had worked with Unai was incredible. Always positive. I did not find one element of criticism. I am talking about players, chairmen, technical directors. I talked with a lot of people who had interacted with him in his time and it was very reassuring.”
