Unai Emery has admitted that he would like to add up to four new players to his Arsenal squad this summer.
With just 18 days remaining until the transfer window closes, Arsenal‘s only transfer business to date remains the capture of 18-year-old Brazilian, Gabriel Martinelli.
It has widely been reported that the Gunners only have a limited transfer budget of around £40 million, as well as whatever they can raise from player sales, although to date, the only departures are those who left on a free at the end of last season.
However, Unai Emery has insisted that the wants to add up to four players to his ranks in the next two-and-a-half weeks.
“Some players are very expensive and we are waiting for this possibility,” Emery told the press after his sides 2-1 pre-season friendly win over Bayern Munich in America.
“We don’t want now to go to the second line of players. We are waiting. We have very good players. We have very good young players. We are aware also that we need to improve some players in this squad.
“I want to sign one, two, three or four players only if we can be sure they are coming to improve our team.”
The North London side are thought to be close to the signing of William Saliba from St. Etienne and have also seen bids rejected for Wilfried Zaha and Kieran Tierney.
