Arsenal have agreed a £35m deal to sign Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi according to reports in Spain.

According to El Gol, the Gunners have agreed to pay the Spanish side £32.7m up front, with a further £2.6m to be paid as bonuses.

He has a €40m release clause in his contract, and despite Sevilla saying he won’t be leaving on the cheap, if these reports are correct, it seems as though Arsenal have secured a deal for slightly less than that clause.

The Frenchman, who has two-and-a-half years left on his contract at the Ramón Sanchez Pizjuan stadium, has been left unhappy after being left out of some of Sevilla’s last few games after he missed training.

N’Zonzi is of course no stranger to the Premier League, having spent three years at Blackburn Rovers and a further three seasons at Stoke City before his shock move to La Liga. During his time in Spain, he has won the Europa League, a competition Arsenal are trying to win this season after last years fifth placed finish.
