There has been speculation around Antonio Conte’s future at Chelsea since he began his second season due to a deterioration of his relationship with his clubs board.
With only a few weeks left to go in the season it is still unclear if Conte will get another season at Stamford Bridge or not. The Italian coach has now shed some light on when his Chelsea future will be revealed, but he first assured everyone that his main focus is on the rest of the season.
“I’m sure that I am Chelsea’s coach and my focus is only on this,” said Conte
“And this speculation is not important for me because my focus is only to work in the best possible way with my players
“There are only two weeks and this season will finish and you will know if there is a different situation or if you see me again next season and we start again from the first game speculation about my future.
“But I am very focused on trying to finish the season in the best possible way and I try to transfer my will to my players and also because the fans deserve this.”
“I like to work with my players, build something important, but in our job it is very important the final result – especially when you are in a great club like Chelsea.”
It makes sense that Conte’s future wouldn’t be revealed yet as Chelsea still have a lot to play for this season, with an FA Cup and a possible top four place still within their sights. The Italian’s fate could be decided based on the success or failure of those two targets.
