Andy Carroll’s move to Chelsea has been thrown into doubt after the striker picked up yet another injury.

The striker has had a career blighted by injuries and has missed the Hammers last three games thanks to an ankle injury.

He has been the subject of shock interest from Chelsea who are looking to bolster their attacking options, with the Blues thought to be ready to launch a £20m bid.

However, that move has been thrown into doubt with the news that the former Newcastle and Liverpool striker will be ruled out for a further month.

Whether Chelsea will proceed with their interest and sign the striker while he is injured is yet to be seen. They did precisely that on deadline day last summer, signing Danny Drinkwater from Leicester City despite carrying thigh injury which prevented him making his debut for almost two months.

If Chelsea do sign Carroll, then current backup striker Michy Batshuayi will be allowed to leave. The Belgian is wanted by Sevilla on loan.
