Andrey Santos has revealed how he has brought in additional help to ensure he succeeds at Chelsea.

Santos has returned from an impressive loan spell at Strasbourg, where he scored 10 goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances last season. The midfielder’s encouraging performances came after a difficult start in Europe. After arriving at Chelsea, he endured a tough loan at Nottingham Forest that yielded just one Premier League appearance.

Santos is now bidding to break into Enzo Maresca’s side and has made three substitute appearances across the season’s opening weeks.

Discussing the differences between South American football and Europe, Santos said ‘every little detail’ is important. He revealed he has brought in his own personal team of physiotherapists and nutritionists as he looks to maximise his talent.

“Talent alone isn’t enough here (in Europe) — every little detail makes a difference,” Santos told Globo.

“I feel like I’ve developed physically compared to my time at Vasco. I’ve become stronger and faster.

“I told myself I had to change. Now I have a physiotherapist, a chef, a nutritionist, and a whole team around me to help.”
