Alonso urges Hudson-Odoi to have patience at Chelsea amid Bayern Munich interest

Marcos Alonso has urged Callum Hudson-Odoi to ‘have patience’ at Chelsea, saying he doesn’t understand why the youngster would want to join Bayern Munich.

The talented teenager is being courted by the German giants, who have submitted bids of £20m, £30m and £35m in recent weeks as they look to replace the ageing duo of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

It has been claimed that Hudson-Odoi has told Chelsea that he wants to be granted a move to the serial Bundesliga champions, but Blues full-back Alonso has urged the 18-year old to be patient, and has reminded him that he is already at ‘a great team’.

“He is a good player, but he is very young,” Alonso told Sky Sports.

“He needs to have patience and to be hungry and fight for a place in this team.

“That is all he needs to do, he has all the conditions to be a great player, now it is up to him to fight for a place here or try to find more minutes somewhere else.

“Bayern Munich? We are Chelsea, another great team, the Premier League is the most competitive league in the world, I don’t know why someone would go to Bayern Munich.”

Hudson-Odoi has started the last two of Chelsea’s games, the 2-0 FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest, and the 1-0 defeat to Spurs in the Carabao Cup. However, he has only made one substitute appearance in the Premier League.
