Alisson tipping Liverpool to have ‘a great season’

New Liverpool goalkeeper is tipping Liverpool to have ‘a great season’ after finally starting pre-season training.

The Brazilian recently became the World’s most expensive goalkeeper of all time, when Liverpool agreed to pay Roma £67 million, almost double what Man City paid to sign Ederson Moraes 12 months ago.

Despite signing on the dotted line two weeks ago, his involvement in the World Cup this summer has delayed the start to his pre-season training, but he has now flown out to France to join up with his new team-mates at their training camp in France.

Speaking to the Official Liverpool website, the ‘keeper expressed the need to get to know his team-mates quickly, but tipped the side to have a great season.

“It’s important I get to know them as quickly as possible,” he said.

“The relationship we develop off the pitch is very helpful for us to gel as a team. I know Fabinho and Bobby [Firmino] and I’m sure they’re going to help me.

“I’ve also already worked with ‘Mo Mo’ [Salah], the three of them will be very important for me to settle into the squad.

“My first impression tells me it won’t be difficult for me here – it’s a great squad formed by great players and brilliant professionals.

“I’m sure it’s going to be a great season for us all.”
