Alexis Sanchez has been linked with a move back to Spain as speculation about his future continues.
Sanchez has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City in recent months, with a deal thought to have been close on transfer deadline day. However Arsenal’s inability to sign a replacement, namely Monaco’s Thomas Lemar, prevented the move to the Etihad from happening.
That move was rumoured to be worth around £60 million, but with Sanchez’s contract ticking towards next summers expiry date, his value is plummeting by the day.
According to El Gol Digital, Sanchez is being eyed up by Spanish and European champions, Real Madrid – and could be a replacement for Gareth Bale.
Reports recently have suggested that Real Madrid chiefs have grown tired of Bale’s seemingly endless injury problems and have decided to cash in on the player.
Sanchez would be an ideal, ready made replacement for the Welshman, and would also be a huge fan favourite at the Bernabeu despite having previously played for their bitter El Classico rivals, FC Barcelona. He made 141 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 47 goals, but left for Arsenal after being unable to consistently feature in the starting XI.
The report suggests that Real Madrid are ready to make a move as early as January, where he could be available for £20m-£30m, but would also be willing to wait where they could try to snap him up on a free transfer. Los Blancos are able to enter into a pre contract agreement with the player from January onwards thanks to his contract situation.
