Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka is expecting his players to respond from their Carabao Cup exit against Burton Albion in midweek.
Karanka’s side were knocked out 3-2 by Nigel Clough’s men, who advance to the quarter-finals of the competition following the victory.
A Saidy Janko own goal and a Stuart Fraser effort saw Burton go 2-0 up, but a Lewis Grabban goal pulled things back for Forest.
Jake Hesketh extended the lead, and despite a goal from Arvin Appiah in added time, it was merely a consolation as the League One club advanced to the next round of the competition, where they will face Middlesbrough.
However, the Forest boss expects his side to produce the goods following their defeat, in their clash against table toppers Sheffield United at the City Ground on Saturday.
“The reaction has been very good. This is a fact that they are always very good on the training pitch and it is one of the reasons we are improving and we are better in the league.’’ Karanka told his pre-match press conference.
“They don’t care about the previous game, only the following one and they go to the pitch always thinking and doing their best.”
Sheffield have started the season in blistering form, but Karanka is confident his side can upset the odds and get a result.
Forest host the Blades with a 3pm kick-off this Saturday.
