Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is aiming to continue his ‘hot streak’ against Liverpool when the teams meet at The Etihad on Thursday night.
City host Jurgen Klopp’s league leaders in a crucial clash this week, with the champions trailing their Merseyside rivals by seven points in the Premier League title race.
Aguero has a fine record in home clashes with Liverpool, having scored in every fixture against them at The Etihad since arriving in English football from Atletico Madrid in 2011.
The Argentinean says that he pays no attention to such records, but admits he is keen to keep the run going when City face the Reds on Thursday.
“I’m not the type of guy who keeps a tally of that kind of thing,” Aguero told mancity.com.
“Of course, I want to score as much as I can to help the team win, and if that’s the way it panned out against Liverpool so far, then I hope I can keep the streak going at the Etihad in this meeting – and dispel it when we next face them at Anfield.
“Football always gives a chance to even the score.”
