AC Milan and Inter Milan are preparing for a huge Derby della Madonnina at the San Siro, with both teams dealing with injury problems and plenty to play for. Inter, the defending champions, are trying to stay level at the top of Serie A, while Milan will want to respond after a difficult week.
AC Milan are currently fifth in Serie A and have been uneven in recent weeks. They began the league campaign strongly, going unbeaten for eight matches, and followed that with a tough 2-0 away win at Udinese. However, that positive run ended when Ruben Amorim’s side lost 4-2 at home to Bologna in midweek, a result that highlighted problems in their defence.
AC Milan team news
Amorim now has several defensive concerns. Fikayo Tomori is expected to be out for up to a month after suffering a serious thigh injury in the Bologna game.
He is joined on the sidelines by long-term absentees Matteo Gabbia, Alexis Saelemaekers, and Samuel Chukwueze.
There is some good news for Milan, though. Adrien Rabiot, Mario Gila, and Diego Moreira have all returned to full training and could be available for selection.
Christian Pulisic is also fully fit and should return to the starting team after being managed carefully during the week.
