AC Milan are plotting an audacious bid to sign three Chelsea stars in the January transfer window.
According to Radio Rossonera, the Italian giants will launch bids to sign Cesc Fabregas, Gary Cahill and Andreas Christensen when the winter window opens.
The trio have all struggled for game-time since Maurizio Sarri’s summer arrival as manager and Milan believe they can secure all three players as they look to strengthen their squad.
Fabregas, 31, has been with Chelsea since signing from Barcelona in 2014 but has found opportunities limited this season following the summer signings of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic. The Spanish midfielder’s contract is set to expire in the summer and Milan are keen on taking the former Arsenal captain on-loan until the end of the season.
Both Cahill and Christensen are also said to be interesting Milan as they look to bolster their defence. Cahill is the current Chelsea club captain and, despite his contract also expiring in the summer, will be granted a loan move as a mark of respect for his service to the club since arriving from Bolton in 2012.
After two years on-loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, Christensen returned to Chelsea for 2017/18 and looked to have enjoyed a breakthrough season making 40 appearances in all competitions, but has fallen out of favour under new boss Sarri. The Danish defender is keen to secure regular first-team football but it remains to be seen whether Milan can put together a deal to satisfy all parties.
