After months of speculation surrounding the future of Alexis Sanchez, a new name has entered the frame to sign the Arsenal star.
Over the past months, a whole host of clubs have been linked with the Chilean international. Chelsea and Bayern Munich were linked early in the summer, before Manchester City took the lead in race. City were most heavily linked, and were thought to be close to striking a £60m deal one month ago on Transfer deadline day. However, Arsenal’s inability to land a late replacement put the brakes on that potential move. Since then Manchester United and PSG have been linked with being interested to signing the player on a free next summer, offering him a huge signing in feel
However, according to reports in Spain, a new club has entered the race to sign Sanchez and will make a big money move in January.
According to Don Balon, big spending Italian giants AC Milan are preparing a £75m January offer in order to win the race for Sanchez’s signature.
With only nine months remaining on his current contract at the Emirates, Sanchez’s transfer value is plummeting by the week, with Arsenal having to face up to the prospect to losing their most prized asset for free next summer.
However, the opportunity to receive £75m for a player with so little time remaining on his deal could prompt Arsene Wenger to cash in.
AC Milan are of course able to afford such transfer fee’s thanks to their new Chinese owners, who bankrolled a huge investment this summer as they try to get back to the pinnacle of Italian and European football.
