Emery insists Arsenal ‘are making progress.’

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has insisted that his side are making progress in adapting to the high pressing tactics he demands from his teams.

The Gunners got their first Premier League win of the season against West Ham last weekend, although many fans and pundits continue to question whether Emery’s decision to play a high defensive line actually suits the playing personnel he has at his disposal at the Emirates.

However, speaking to the press today ahead of his sides away game against Cardiff on Sunday, Emery revealed that he feels his side are improving and will continue to do so as the season goes on:

“We are making progress. We have only played three matches. We need to know the communication with the players so that we can do the high pressing,” Emery said.

“The same in this game. We improved in the match, during the ninety minutes. We lost the control for moments during the game, but we finished really well.

“I was happy with the last 20 minutes. I want to continue improving in the next match on Sunday against Cardiff.”
