West Ham have rejected a second offer from Roma for Crysencio Summerville, and the Serie A club are already preparing another approach.
Roma’s latest bid was worth around €46m (£40m), following an opening proposal of €40m plus €5m in add-ons. Sky Sport Italia reports the Giallorossi have since lodged a third offer and are awaiting a response.
West Ham remain in a strong position. Summerville’s contract contains no release clause, meaning any deal must be negotiated between the clubs. The Hammers are holding out for a fee closer to €50m, confident of attracting a higher bid.

The player, though, is keen on the move. Summerville has given the green light to a switch to Rome, convinced by the technical project presented to him by Roma’s hierarchy. His willingness could yet prove decisive.
A wage gap remains, however. Summerville is said to want around €6m a year, while Roma have offered closer to €4-4.5m. That distance may complicate the Serie A club’s pursuit.
Premier League interest could also intervene. Both Aston Villa and Manchester United are monitoring the 24-year-old, with Villa reportedly holding the edge.
Either would be better placed than Roma to match West Ham’s valuation and the player’s wage demands.
Summerville’s stock has risen despite relegation. He scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances last season, one of the few bright spots in a difficult campaign for West Ham.
His World Cup form only enhanced his reputation. Summerville struck twice and added two assists for the Netherlands, including a goal against Sweden, before their last-32 exit to Morocco.
Roma’s determination reflects how highly they rate him. Unable to match Premier League spending power, they are relying on their sporting project and the player’s own preference to get a deal done.
For West Ham, a decision now looms. They must weigh cashing in on one of their most saleable assets against holding firm for the fee they believe he commands.
