Egypt and Iran are set to face each other in their final Group G match on Saturday at Seattle Stadium, with both sides still fighting for qualification.
Egypt currently lead the group with four points from two games, while Iran sits just behind them with two points from the same number of matches.
The Egyptian team comes into this game in strong form and full of confidence, having remained unbeaten so far in the tournament. They began their campaign with a solid 1-1 draw against a well-organised Belgium side, before producing a much more dominant display in their second match, where they secured a comfortable 3-1 win over New Zealand.
Egypt team news
Head coach Hossam Hassan has a few minor injury concerns to deal with, but he is still expected to name a strong and competitive starting lineup.
Midfielder Hamdy Fathy is still being assessed after he had to leave the field early during the win against New Zealand.
Meanwhile, defender Hossam Abdelmaguid is also dealing with a slight injury from the same match, although he has not yet been officially ruled out of contention.
Aside from these concerns, the rest of Egypt’s 26-man squad is fit and available for selection.
Captain Mohamed Salah will once again lead the attack after delivering an excellent performance in the previous game, where he contributed both a goal and an assist.
He will be supported in attack by the in-form Omar Marmoush. With four points already secured, Egypt only need a draw in this match to safely book their place in the knockout stages.
