Roy Keane has revealed that he buried the hatchet with Bruno Fernandes after two men had a brief feud over the Manchester United star’s pursuit of the Premier League assist record.
Fernandes called out former United captain Keane for telling a “lie” on an episode of The Overlap podcast last month.
Keane claimed that Fernandes admitted in an interview that he had chose to pass instead of shoot, when the United captain had actually said the opposite.
Fernandes told The Diary of a CEO podcast that he wanted to reach out to Keane about his misinterpreted comments. “I accept his criticism, I accept that he might like me as a player or not, like me as a person or not. But what I don’t like is that he puts words in my mouth that have not been said. That’s the only thing I don’t like.”
Keane responded to the Portuguese playmaker’s comments by posting an image of a donkey accompanied by the caption: ‘Too much attention makes a donkey think he’s a lion’.

Roy Keane quashes Bruno Fernandes feud with ‘lovely chat’
Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Keane revealed that the matter has been put to bed after the pair enjoyed a “nice, mature conversation”.
“He apologised, I forgave him, no problem,” joked Keane. “But no, it was a good chat.
“There was a reaction after what we said on the podcast a few weeks ago and he reached out to me and wanted a chat… I called him and we had a lovely chat.
“A lovely chat about a bit of everything, but it was nice because when we do podcasts or games, sometimes you think you say something afterwards and you communicate something and it doesn’t come across properly, so people get upset and he said he wanted to talk to me.
“And we had a nice, mature conversation. It was lovely. A lovely chat.

“I like having boundaries with players. I don’t want to be speaking to players every few weeks or their agents, I don’t want to go down that road, but every now and then a player might reach out, so I think it was important I spoke to him.
“There has been lots going on and lots reported. He’s obviously a big player for United, I’m an ex-United player and the idea of this communicating and having a proper conversation, I really enjoyed it. Hopefully he did as well. Nice chat about a bit of everything and I felt better afterwards.”
