Arsenal have made an approach to sign Paris Saint-Germain teenager Emmanuel Mbemba when his contract expires this summer.
The 18-year-old is understood to be open to a move to the Premier League champions, despite being offered a new contract at PSG.
According to the BBC, Arsenal have made an approach to Mbemba’s camp in an attempt to agree a deal.
The defender is a youth international with France and captained PSG’s u-19 side to the French Youth Cup this season. Despite featuring predominantly in central defence in France, Arsenal view Mbemba as a potential long-term option at left-back.
Should Mbemba agree a deal with Arsenal, the Gunners would be required to play a development compensation fee to PSG of around £150,000.
It would be expected that the defender would be sent out on loan to a European side until he can gain the required work permit to feature in English football.
