Mark the dates in your calendar because the Premier League have confirmed the dates for next season’s summer and winter transfer windows.
Last year bore witness to a host of broken records as clubs went buck wild in the transfer market. According to FIFA’s Global Transfer Report, a record £9.49 billion was spent on international transfers in the men’s game in 2025.
Premier League clubs, of course, spent more than any other member association, splashing out £3bn on new signings (per Deloitte), with Liverpool breaking the record for most money spent in a single window (£450 million). Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle United all broke the £200m barrier.
There was an all-time high of 86,158 international player transfers across all levels of the men’s and women’s games, with transfer spending in women’s football increasing by 80 per cent to a record £20.74m.
Will the spending slow down this summer? It’s unlikely we will see it reach the same stratospheric highs of last year, but there are already reports of Premier League teams looking at making some major signings.
Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton and Enzo Fernandez could all move and they would command close to, if not well over £100m in transfer fees each. Liverpool need to replace Mo Salah and have been linked with Yan Diomande, who will not come cheap. Manchester United will no doubt look to strengthen Michael Carrick’s squad after securing a return to the UEFA Champions League. And Chelsea have signalled they plan to purchase ready-made stars, which will undoubtedly cost them a pretty.

The Premier League’s winter 2027 window will open on Friday, 1st January 2027 and close at 11pm GMT on Monday, 1st February 2027.
