Spain and Serbia meet in an international friendly at Estadio de la Cerámica on Friday, with La Roja using the game as another step in their build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
Spain arrived in outstanding shape after finishing top of their World Cup qualifying group with 16 points from six matches, three more than runners-up Turkey.
Spain team news
Spain is without a number of important players for this camp, with Aymeric Laporte, Pablo Barrios, Samu Omorodion, Mikel Merino and Fabián Ruiz all sidelined by injury.
Luis de la Fuente is still expected to pick a familiar-looking starting side and has made it clear he plans to rotate sensibly across the March fixtures to keep his squad fresh ahead of the summer.
In attack, Lamine Yamal is tipped to start on the right of a front three, while in midfield, Rodri and Pedri are both likely to be in the XI.
Martín Zubimendi is also pushing hard for minutes at the base of midfield after catching the eye in recent international appearances.
Unai Simón remains the first-choice goalkeeper, but De la Fuente is weighing up the idea of giving Barcelona stopper Joan García his first senior cap against Serbia.
“We are going to see how the games develop, and we will see if we can give a chance to those who have not lived this international experience,” the Spain boss explained when asked about handing debuts this window.
