PSG vs Marseille – Predicted lineup and team news

PSG and Marseille meet in a Ligue 1 Classique at the Parc des Princes on Sunday, with the reigning champions looking to overhaul Lens at the summit and OM looking to drag themselves back into the title picture.

Luis Enrique’s side currently occupies second place on 48 points from 20 matches, one behind leaders Lens and with a game in hand, while Marseille sit fourth on 39 points after 20 fixtures.

PSG team news

PSG will have to cope without right-back Achraf Hakimi, who is suspended for this showdown following his red card in last weekend’s league victory and is therefore ruled out of Le Classique.

In midfield, Fabian Ruiz is still unavailable as he continues a treatment and recovery programme for a knee problem, and young midfielder Quentin Ndjantou faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a right hamstring injury.

There is better news in attack, where Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has shaken off an ankle issue; he returned to full training on Friday and is back in contention for the squad, giving Enrique an extra creative and goalscoring option for the visit of OM.

The PSG coach is tipped to persist with Matvey Safonov in goal, protected by a back four of Warren Zaïre-Emery, captain Marquinhos, Willian Pacho and Nuno Mendes, with Senny Mayulu, Vitinha and João Neves likely to form the midfield trio and a vibrant front three of Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Bradley Barcola expected to spearhead the attack.

Speaking before the game, Enrique highlighted both the emotional weight and competitive significance of France’s biggest domestic fixture, describing rivalry games as crucial “Rivalry matches are important for the standings and, above all, meaningful for the fans” while insisting PSG’s goal is “securing three points to maintain our lead.”
