Smith Rowe questions officials as Fulham lose at Man United

Emile Smith Rowe has said Fulham’s feeling is frustration after losing late on at Manchester United.

The Cottagers looked to have rescued themselves a point late on at Old Trafford, after coming back from two goals down to level.

A Raul Jimenez penalty and Kevin’s 91st-minute strike saw Fulham level in stoppage time, after Manchester United had led through Casemiro and Matheus Cunha.

However, Benjamin Sesko struck deep into added time to snatch the home side a third consecutive win under interim manager Michael Carrick.

Smith Rowe lamented his side’s inability to hold on for a result and questioned the decision-making of the officials. Fulham had a Jorge Cuenca goal ruled out by VAR, in a decision that left manager Marco Silva furious.

“Really frustrating. I thought the boys fought really hard today to get back into the game. It’s a bit annoying to concede straight after equalising,” Smith Rowe said to Sky Sports.

“This is football. We can’t do much, all we can do is try to perform as best we can. It felt like some decisions didn’t go our way but it’s football at the end of the day.

“We want to do that every game, we want to compete, fight and show our best on and off the ball. I felt we got a bit unlucky today. We still have a lot to play for. We are still in the cups and have had a good season so far.”
