PSG will look to bounce back from a shocking Coupe de France exit when they host Lille at the Parc des Princes on Friday evening.
PSG haven’t lost to Lille in their last nine head-to-head meetings and will look to make it ten this time. Luis Enrique’s men will be motivated by the fact that they are the only team in Ligue 1 who have yet lose at home this season.

PSG team news
Paris Saint-Germain are preparing for Friday’s match while dealing with a series of squad limitations. Most significantly, right-back Achraf Hakimi and midfielder Ibrahim Mbaye remain unavailable as they continue their international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations. Goalkeeper Matvey Safonov is sidelined with a broken hand, while midfielder Lee Kang-in is ruled out with a thigh injury.
Midfielder João Neves has joined the injury list, with the Portuguese player experiencing muscle pain and undergoing individual training away from the group, though his final status for participation remains to be decided.
Also not available is Quentin Ndjantou due to his hamstring injury. However, there is positive news as left-back Lucas Hernandez has returned to training after missing Monday’s cup match against Paris FC due to illness.
Lille team news
Lille face their own injury concerns heading into the Parc des Princes encounter. The club’s captain, Benjamin André, sustained a shoulder injury during their Coupe de France defeat against Lyon on January 11th. Tests have revealed no fracture, though the midfielder is expected to be unavailable for Friday’s match, with manager Bruno Genesio stating that the shoulder is “always a very painful area” and the timeline for his return remains uncertain. Midfielder Ousmane Touré remains sidelined with a torn ACL suffered at the season’s start, while Portuguese midfielder André Gomes is uncertain due to ongoing muscular issues.
There is positive news for Lille as the club has welcomed back three African international players this week: central defender Aissa Mandi from Algeria, central defender Chancel Mbemba from the Congo, and defensive midfielder Ngalayelau.
However, Moroccan striker Hamza Igamane, who has scored nine goals this season, continues to participate in the Africa Cup of Nations and remains unavailable. The club will rely on veteran striker Olivier Giroud, who joined from Los Angeles FC on a one-year contract, bringing his experience as France’s all-time record goalscorer.
Form
PSG
Luis Enrique’s side ended their Coupe de France campaign after losing 1-0 to city rivals Paris FC in a shocking upset that ended their cup defence.
They currently sit second in the league table with 39 points in 17 matches. Luis Enrique has emphasised that PSG must use the cup exit as motivation. “We came back to the Parc with a victory! We saw how difficult this match was, but in my opinion, we had a very good first half with lots of opportunities.”
Lille
Lille have endured a mixed period, losing their only two games so far in 2026. They suffered a 2-0 home defeat against Rennes on January 3rd before being eliminated from the Coupe de France by Lyon 1-2 on January 11th.
Despite these recent setbacks, the northern club have shown resilience elsewhere, winning seven of their last 10 Ligue 1 matches. Lille currently occupy fourth place in the standings with 32 points from 17 matches.
