Leeds United vs Crystal Palace – Match Preview and Team News

Leeds United aim to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to four matches on Saturday night as they welcome Crystal Palace to Elland Road.

Daniel Farke’s side have found a new lease of life in their fight for survival. They snatched a 1-1 draw at Brentford last weekend, thanks to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s fourth goal in as many games.

They face a Crystal Palace team navigating a brutal festive schedule. Oliver Glasner’s men lost 3-0 to Manchester City last weekend before playing out a 2-2 draw with KuPS in the Conference League on Thursday. However, the Eagles arrive in Yorkshire with the league’s best away record in 2025. They will be looking to bounce back immediately to stay in the hunt for the top four.

Team News

Leeds United

Daniel Farke has confirmed that the injury situation remains unchanged. Therefore, he will select from the same group of players that drew with Brentford. Attacker Lukas Nmecha, winger Daniel James, and midfielder Sean Longstaff are all ruled out until the New Year. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will spearhead the attack, aiming to become just the fourth Leeds player to score in five consecutive Premier League appearances.

Crystal Palace

Oliver Glasner has taken the unusual step of confirming his entire starting XI in advance. He revealed that the 11 players who did not start the midweek European game will all start at Elland Road. This means a completely fresh lineup featuring Dean Henderson, Marc Guéhi, and Jean-Philippe Mateta returns to the fold. However, the Eagles are without Ismaïla Sarr, who has departed for the Africa Cup of Nations. Daichi Kamada, Daniel Muñoz, and Cheick Doucouré remain in the treatment room.

Form

Leeds United

Since the November break, Leeds have transformed their attack. They have scored 10 goals in five games with a significantly improved conversion rate. Elland Road has seen plenty of action recently, with Farke’s men netting three goals in each of their last two home league matches. However, defensive solidity remains an issue as they have conceded in each of their last six home games.

Crystal Palace

Palace have been road warriors in 2025. They have won more away points and games than any other Premier League side this calendar year. Their defence has been particularly stingy away from home, conceding just five goals on their travels this season. However, they have been wasteful in front of goal recently, underperforming their expected goals (xG) significantly.

Predicted Lineups

Leeds United predicted XI: Perri; Struijk, Rodon, Bijol; Bogle, Stach, Tanaka, Ampadu, Guðmundsson; Okafor, Calvert-Lewin

Crystal Palace confirmed XI: Henderson; Richards, Lacroix, Guéhi; Clyne, Wharton, Hughes, Mitchell; Nketiah, Pino; Mateta
