Real Madrid make the trip to face Alaves in La Liga action this weekend.
Xabi Alonso is under pressure at Real Madrid, following a run of just two wins in eight games. The Spanish side have lost back-to-back home games and will hope a clash on the road can reignite their fortunes.
Real Madrid vs Alaves – Predicted lineup and team news
Real Madrid team news
Kylian Mbappe was deemed only fit enough for the bench in midweek, remaining an unused substitute for the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.
“It’s too early to know if he’ll be ready for Sunday,” Alonso said on Mbappe.
“We have to take it day by day, and he wasn’t fit to play today, otherwise he would’ve played. We miss him, but we had enough chances to score that second goal.”
Alonso may opt to bring his leading scorer back into the starting side, given the Frenchman’s form this season. Mbappe is the leading scorer in both La Liga (16) and the Champions League (9) during the current campaign.
In terms of absentees, Los Blancos remain short defensively. Another injury for Eder Militao is a big blow, while Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal remain sidelined.
In further concerning news, both Dean Huijsen and Eduardo Camavinga are doubtful, joining Mbappe in a bid to prove their fitness.
Real Madrid predicted lineup
Predicted Real Madrid XI: Courtois; Valverde, Asensio; Rudiger, Carreras; Tchouameni, Bellingham, Guler; Rodrygo, Vinicius, Mbappe.
What time is kick-off?
The La Liga clash kicks off at 8pm GMT on Sunday 14th December 2025.
