Liverpool consider Michael Olise their ‘dream target’ but are not currently planning to move for the Bayern Munich winger.
Olise is considered the ideal candidate to eventually replace Mohamed Salah at Anfield, following his rise in Germany.
The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s best wide players since moving to Munich from Crystal Palace in 2023. This season, Olise has six goals and six assists in just nine league starts, averaging a Bundesliga goal involvement every 71.4 minutes.

Liverpool are understood to view Olise as a future target but no move is currently planned. Sky Germany are reporting that Bayern’s reluctance to sell and the lack of a release clause in the player’s contract will prevent the Reds from firming up their interest. Olise is also not pursuing a Premier League return at this stage.
Semenyo a concrete Liverpool target for January
Liverpool are instead focused on Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo. The 25-year-old has a release clause that can be activated in January, worth an initial £60m with a further £5m in add-ons.
Richard Hughes, Liverpool’s sporting director, was behind the deal to sign Semenyo for Bournemouth during his time working on the south coast. The Premier League champions are not alone in their pursuit, with rival interest from English clubs.
However, ‘concrete’ moves are being made over a January deal as Arne Slot’s side look to reignite their faltering campaign. Semenyo has scored six times and provided three assists in the Premier League this season.
